The Cross River University of Technology Alumni Association is a body made up of all graduates of CRUTECH, former staff, Exchange students, Honourees, Research scholars, visiting fellows, and Post-Doctors of CRUTECH right from its inception till date with a valid certificate from CRUTECH. The body represents the interest of the university, its graduates in the university community and beyond.
CRUTECH Alumni Association was formed through the express request of the National University Commission (NUC) to provide alternative sources of funding for CRUTECH, to ensure that funds meant for CRUTECH are maximally and judiciously utilized for the benefit of the University, to serve as a platform for interaction with Federal and State Government, council and Management of CRUTECH on matters affecting the university, to provide a forum for the joint consideration of common matters, strategies and actions affecting CRUTECH, to serve as a bridge through which CRUTECH Alumni can assist one another and form a platform for proper integration and harnessing of resources toward the growth of CRUTECH and to be involved in the re-orientation of CRUTECH undergraduate students –The Alumni of tomorrow.
It is in the light of this that the then Vice Chancellor, Prof.(Mrs.) Ekanem Ikpi Braide initiated and hosted a meeting of the University graduates with top management staff of CRUTECH on the 10th of July, 2007 at the University Assembly Hall. It was the same meeting that nominated and confirmed Evangelist Eleng, David Mbotor (Mbotor Mbotor) as pioneer Caretaker Committee Chairman of CRUTECH Alumni Association and others as members. He was re-elected as the first National President and led for a period of Eight (8) years July 2007-June 2015 cumulatively.
Cross River University of Technology Alumni Association got a large boost under the administration of Comrade Eyam Abeng who took over the mantle of leadership as the president of this noble and proactive Association. He is a man of vision and ideas who is committed to action, determined to lead CRUTECH Alumni to the next level. Eyam Abeng won in a keenly contested Alumni election and was inaugurated on the 12th December 2015. Comrade Abeng and members of the National Executive Council christened “The Consolidation Team” revitalized the Alumni and interacted regularly with members and other Organs of the Association. He has visited several active Alumni Chapters and set into motion a process which saw the body on its way to full recovery, integration into the university system and more active generally. His administration continued and put up a sizeable amount of resources to ensure that the Alumni achieve its full potential and participated fully in the activities of the university. Comrade Eyam Abeng visited all active chapters of the Association and ensured that the Alumni were fully kept abreast of developments in the university. He placed a lot of emphasis on the focal role of the Alumni in resource mobilization for the university. This yielded dividend for CRUTECH as MR. ABDULLAHI ISIYAKU initiated and donated prize award for the best graduating students in the following departments for five years (2015 - 2020).

Furthermore, he supported the newly inaugurated National Executive Council of CRUTECH Alumni with the sum of Three Hundred Thousand (N300, 000) Naira.
The Association grew over the years and new chapters were established. Prominent among the new chapters that flourished are Akwa Ibom State Branch and Rivers State Branch. The University’s keen interest in the Association brought about a very close working relationship between the leadership of the Association and successive Vice Chancellors in Cross River University of Technology, CRUTECH.
